3. Be sure to seek a specific type of professional organizer if you have a specialized type of project. Many organizers specialize in one particular type of organization, for example, office organization or business organization.

4. Make sure their services are in your budget. Ask how much they charge per hour. Most organizers charge an hourly rate that ranges from $45 to $200 per hour. The higher their price the more specialized their field of expertise. Many organizers accept check, cash, paypal and credit cards.

Organized people donate on a regular basis. I recommend donating 4 times a year. Keep a donation box in a garage, basement, or a closet at all times. Once it is full drop it off to a donation center and start over. When you buy something new, drop a couple of older items in your donation box. This new habit will help control clutter and also help someone in need. Tax deduction receipts are an added bonus to donating.

Go Paperless

Go paperless people!! Most bills today are offered electronically. Bills can be viewed via email, online, or sent to an online bill pay with your bank. This helps reduce paper clutter. Time consuming filing is greatly reduced if you have online bill pay. You also save money if you pay your bills online. You do not spend as much money on checks or stamps, an added bonus to electronic payments.

Look Up/ Look Down

Are you having trouble finding space for your belongings? Look up and down in your closets, attic, basement, garage and cabinets. Valuable space is wasted if you do not utilize it. The Big Reach Pole Hook is one of my favorites! Some of the custom closets designed today make it difficult to reach wanted stored away items. As long as the item has a handle or hook and it is not too heavy, then you should be able to get the item without lugging out heavy step stools. This item is also handy for hanging Christmas lights and fan switches that are out of reach. If you decide to purchase this item to not forget to purchase the extension pole that goes with it.

*Check your mail daily. Open the mail as soon as you walk inside. Throw away or recycle all junk mail and sort. Place bills that need to be paid into your designated bill pay area. Keep control of paper clutter by opting out of junk mail and switch to electronic bills if possible.
